Position Summary
Bousum Transfer, LLC. is a waste hauling company that specializes in the transportation of municipal solid waste, C/D, and recyclables; from transfer stations and manufacturing facilities to landfills and incinerators in the northeast.
We are in search for a full time Yard Jockey who must be comfortable operating switchers to reposition trailers around the facility, tarping trailers, and doing pre and post inspections. The ideal candidate must follow all safety protocols and can work efficiently to ensure there is no traffic back up in the yard.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Able to Lift 75-100 lbs. multiple times per day
- Must be able to perform a proper pre and post trip inspection
- Report any maintenance needs or equipment malfunctions to appropriate supervisor and maintenance personnel
- Must be able to climb a ladder
- Help in tarping of loads
- Move trailers in yard to maximize space and maintain organization of the yard
- Coordinate with operations supervisors daily for additional tasks
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Position is exposed to all elements- role is outside a majority of the time
- The position is located in Frederick, MD
KNOWLEDGE OF:
- Safety regulations and precautions pertaining to vehicle use
- Safe and proper use of assigned equipment
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Yard jockey experience is a PLUS
- Class A Commercial Driver's License is a MUST
- Reliable Transportation
- Safe driving record
- Must be able to work M-F and alternating Saturday’s.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
