What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Therapist position at BOURNE INC?
The Residential Therapist has the primary responsibility for the overall delivery of traditional and evidence-based mental health services for Bourne Inc. STRTP program. The Residential Therapist works closely with the program clinical leadership to develop a comprehensive treatment plan for residents of the STRTP program. The Residential Therapist will demonstrate the attitude, behavior, knowledge, and skill necessary to work respectfully and effectively with the multi-disciplinary team as well as exhibit the ability to address the needs of the children and families served by the STRTP program.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the healing process by developing appropriate therapeutic relationships with the children and families.
- Provide individual, family, and group therapy as appropriate in accordance with DMH standards.
- Collaborate on a regular basis with Behavior Specialist and Family Facilitator/Case Manager to ensure that clients and families are receiving advocacy services and are being linked to appropriate outside resources while in treatment.
- Responsible for coordinating family involvement in treatment. Communicates with parents and other approved family members. Encourages and facilitates a family environment in parent education, weekly visits, family therapy, and other Bourne, Inc. facilitated services.
- Provide active collaboration with the legal guardian/family to plan and oversee the residents discharge from Bourne, Inc. STRTP to ensure appropriate support systems are available upon discharge.
- Responsible for documenting progress through completion of Department of Mental Health documentation, completes and maintains all documentation of services delivered which includes individual and group progress notes, 30-day reviews, 90-day reviews and Transition Determination Plans
- Provide Crisis Intervention services as needed and indicated for clients experiencing mental health crisis and requiring clinical assessment and intervention as directed by the program clinical leadership.
- Provide mental health services/aftercare to residents leaving the program as indicated by the Client Treatment Plan and Needs and Services Plan
- Perform other duties as requested.
- Master’s degree in social work, Marriage & Family Therapy or related field or Doctorate Degree in Psychology; from an approved graduate school
- Licensed, Licensed eligible, or Waivered per DMH. Must be registered and in good standing with the BBS or BOP
- Familiar with utilization of DSM-V and the ICD-10 Codes.
- Training in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Seeking Safety and/or other Evidence Based Practices is highly desirable (although not required)
- Experience working with clients ages 12-18
- Experience in a STRTP or similar setting or with a similar resident population
- Familiar with navigating an EHRS (Electronic Health Records System) such as EXYM.
Salary : $68,000 - $70,000
