What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Start -Preschool Lead Teacher position at Bourbon County Preschool Head Start?
QUALIFICATIONS: IECE Degree or Other Certification approved by Department of Education
REPORTS TO: Head Start - Preschool Director
SUPERVISES: Not Applicable
JOB GOAL: To implement a preschool educational program for eligible participants
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Have a physical examination and T.B. skin test. Physical paid for by Board of Education at local Health Department.
- Use the curriculum adopted by the program.
- Make two home visits per year to each assigned family enrolled.
- Make lesson plans to be used in daily planning.
- Develop activities to be used for the weekly lesson plan.
- Plan and coordinate center day activities for children.
- Write objectives for each child including disabled children.
- Fill out all enrollment forms.
- Document all pertinent family data.
- Refer families for needed services using referral forms.
- Send all documentation to the Central Office at the designated time.
- Submit withdrawal forms to the Central Office after a withdrawal.
- Insure that the classroom is kept safe and clean.
- Conduct fire drills, tornado drills, bus evacuations and other drills as per school policy and document the drills on appropriate forms.
- Meet all goals and objective of the Head Start - Preschool Program.
- Be responsible for parental activities in the classroom and two parent teacher conferences.
- Other duties as assigned by the Head Start - Preschool Director.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary, benefits and work year to be established by Board approved schedule.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually.
