Survey Crew ChiefJob Location: Savannah, GA$25 to $35 per hour OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Survey Crew Chief to lead and oversee field survey operations. This role is responsible for managing survey crews, ensuring accuracy in data collection, and delivering high-quality survey work to support land development and engineering projects. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to direct both people and processes in the field. Responsibilities & DutiesSupervise daily activities of field survey crews, including scheduling, task assignment, and quality assuranceCollect and record accurate field data using GPS, robotic total stations, and other survey instrumentsPerform boundary, topographic, construction staking, and as-built surveysInterpret engineering and architectural plans, legal descriptions, and plats for field applicationVerify accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations, before submission to project managersEnsure proper use, care, and maintenance of survey equipment and vehiclesTrain, mentor, and support junior survey staff in field practices and safety protocolsCommunicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure project goals are met Minimum RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in surveying, geomatics, or related field preferredMinimum of 4–5 years of field surveying experience, including at least 1–2 years in a leadership or crew chief roleProficiency in operating GPS and robotic total station equipment; working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar software is a plusStrong mathematical and analytical skills, including trigonometry and geometryValid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed BenefitsFull-time, salaried position with performance-based bonus opportunitiesComprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans401(k) retirement plan with employer contributionsPaid holidays, sick leave, and annual leave To learn more, reach out to Jake at jake@instrideagency.com
