Project Manager – HighwaysLocation: Fairfax, Norfolk and Richmond, VA$67-$72 per hour OverviewThis role offers the opportunity to lead and oversee complex highway infrastructure projects from concept through completion. The Project Manager will be responsible for technical supervision, design oversight, and strategic coordination across multidisciplinary teams. The position requires a proactive leader who can manage budgets, schedules, and client relationships while ensuring high standards of quality and compliance. Key Responsibilities• Lead and supervise engineering, planning, and technical staff, including subconsultants• Oversee development of project documentation and reports in line with industry standards• Participate in public presentations, stakeholder meetings, and proposal interviews• Ensure adherence to project scope and implement QA/QC protocols• Develop and manage project budgets and timelines; initiate corrective actions when needed• Support financial tracking and reporting in collaboration with senior leadership• Maintain organized project records and ensure proper archiving• Provide mentorship and training to junior staff• Stay current with industry trends, software tools, and best practices• Drive project deliverables and ensure timely completion• Contribute to business development efforts, including proposal preparation Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or management role• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and lead cross-functional teams Benefits Info• Medical premium is approximately 85% employer-covered for both plan options• 100% of vision and dental premiums covered, depending on the plan selected• Company-paid life insurance provided• Profit-sharing averages 3%, deposited into employee’s ADP account annually• ./401(k) Match: $0.50 per $1.00, up to 3% of base salary To learn more, reach out to Jake at jake@instrideagency.com
