Immigration Business Partner

About the Role

Boundless is hiring an Immigration Business Partner (IBP) to join our growing Embedded Services team. This role exists to solve a real pain point, where HR teams spend a disproportionate amount of time on immigration admin managing spreadsheets, chasing down hiring managers and tracking deadlines manually.

You'll work alongside a dedicated attorney and paralegal as the third member of a client team, owning the operational and coordination work that typically falls on in-house HR. That proximity lets us anticipate needs, flag issues early and deliver in a way a traditional immigration vendor never could.

As an IBP, you will become the day-to-day immigration manager for some of the world's top immigration programs, sitting between the client, our legal team, and our technology platform.

This role is ideal for someone who has lived the chaos of managing immigration in-house at a fast-moving tech company and is ready to bring that expertise to multiple clients. You’ll help them run programs that are proactive, policy-driven, and virtually invisible to their internal teams. You will be the first person permanently in this new role at Boundless, so you’ll be trailblazing and setting the bar for all future IBPs.

You'll also be expected to think like a builder: using AI tools and workflow automation to reduce manual lift, document repeatable playbooks, and help us serve the next client faster. The goal isn't just to run great programs — it's to systematize them.

What You'll Own

Program Tracking

  • Track candidate pipelines in ATS systems to flag sponsorship needs pre-offer and trigger case launches upon offer acceptance
  • Own case projection and auto-launch workflows, ensuring every case initiates on time with clean data

Case Coordination & Intake

  • Complete position intakes for new hires, transfers, extensions, amendments, and PERM cases, drawing on job descriptions, offers, recruiter input, and pre-offer assessments
  • Conduct manager outreach and clear internal approval gates (performance checks, budget sign-offs) so cases can auto-launch.
  • Maintain validated job banks and stakeholder access to keep cases moving without delays

Compliance & Policy Execution

  • Coordinate LCA electronic postings and on-site physical postings for PERM cases
  • Ensure proper material changes (salary, title, worksite) workflows are in place while getting looped into client compensation and promotion cycles to gather data and stay ahead of amendment triggers
  • Track terminations and coordinate withdrawal workflows promptly

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the primary immigration point of contact for HR teams, recruiters, and hiring managers at assigned client accounts
  • Handle program level questions from client stakeholders and employees as needed
  • Implement direct-access channels (e.g., Slack) between client recruiters and the Boundless legal team, co-deliver recruiter training alongside an attorney, and maintain recruiter cheat sheets for each client
  • Proactively check in with foreign nationals after case milestones
  • Represent Boundless in client-facing brown bag sessions and stakeholder introductions along with assigned attorney

Reporting & Program Health

  • Track account health metrics and prepare immigration program updates for client stakeholders on a periodic (monthly/quarterly) basis
  • Surface policy adherence trends and recommend policy revisions when recurring exceptions emerge
  • Understand and partner with attorneys on immigration policy creation and updates, establishing Boundless's clear authority to execute case launches, access stakeholders, and own communications (initially in a shadowing/supporting capacity, growing into independent ownership over time)

Automation & Scalability

  • Identify repetitive, manual steps in your workflows and actively build or propose automations to eliminate them (using tools like Zapier, Make, Claude, or similar)
  • Maintain living playbooks that capture how each client program runs, so institutional knowledge doesn't live only in your head
  • Partner with Boundless's product/tech team to surface gaps where platform tooling could replace coordination work

What We're Looking For
Experience

  • 3 years of corporate immigration experience, ideally as an in-house immigration specialist at a company or on an HR team responsible for immigration. Law firm experience alone is not sufficient.
  • Hands-on experience with H-1B transfers, extensions, and amendments; PERM Green Card processing experience required.
  • Direct experience partnering with recruiting teams and fielding employee questions in a fast-paced hiring environment.

Skills & Competencies

  • Exceptional organizational discipline. Able to juggle multiple client programs without dropping timelines
  • Clear, confident communicator with sponsored employees, HR partners, hiring managers, and legal professionals
  • Employee-experience-first mindset: understands that immigration touches people's lives and treats every interaction accordingly
  • Comfortable operating independently with minimal hand-holding; self-directed and proactive
  • Genuine curiosity about AI and automation: you should have strong opinions about which parts of immigration coordination shouldn't require a human, and the drive to do something about it
