A Birmingham, Alabama based company is seeking an Accountant/ Office Manager for a conveniently located office near bike and walking trails in Birmingham, Alabama. If you are looking to hone your accounting skills and work directly with a CFO to grow into a Controller position this could be a great opportunity for you!
Salary: Flexible based on experience and candidate
Hours: 8-5 but flexible
Benefits: 100% BCBS coverage for single and 50% for family, 401k match, 20 days PTO and flexible work culture.
This candidate would be expected to provide half accounting functions and half office manager duties for the growing company. The candidate would need to be able to work with minimal direct oversight/direction after completely trained in job duties/expectations. In time, this role could grow in title and salary because of the company growth trajectory.
Requirements:
- Accounting Degree
- Some background using Quickbooks or some accounting background,
In general, the duties of the Accountant/Office Manager may include, but not be limited to the following:
- General Ledger Preparation
- Plan and arrange equipment and services needed to support the functions of the office
- Assist with document/report/presentation preparation
- Log, organize and prepare files associated with accounts payable
- Interact with staff and accounting agency regarding payroll, payments, and other banking items
- Prepare letters and other correspondence
- Contact third parties regarding getting quotes for providing goods or services
- Contact third parties to get information/data needed to process payments or agreements
- Assist staff with electronic cataloging and filing of documents
- Administrative support for CEO and potential other office staff
- Proficient with MICROSOFT OFFICE PLATFORM including SHAREPOINT
- Experience with Bill.com
