Job Summary

Duties
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a welcoming atmosphere at the front desk
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility checks
- Collect payments, process medical collections, and handle billing procedures accurately
- Manage patient records and documentation review in compliance with HIPAA regulations and EHR systems like eClinicalWorks or Meditech
- Answer multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette; direct calls appropriately
- Assist with medical intake procedures, including collecting patient information and updating medical histories
- Verify insurance benefits for procedures using CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 codes, and Medicare guidelines
- Maintain organized filing of medical records and ensure confidentiality of health information
- Support clinic operations by performing clerical tasks such as data entry, filing, and managing office supplies
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or Dental Receptionist in a clinical setting, with strong knowledge of dental terminology and medical administrative support
- Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar platforms like Epic or Meditech
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and health information management standards
- Ability to perform medical coding including CPT, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding for billing purposes
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and office management software
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and professionally
- Bilingual abilities are preferred to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Experience with insurance verification, medical billing, appointment scheduling, and clinic operations is highly desirable
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to multitask efficiently in a busy environment
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical administration or related fields is a plus
