Clinical Supervisor Job Description
Position Title: Clinical Supervisor
Reports To: CEO / COO
Education: RN, PA, NP
Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000 annually
Employment Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week)
Location: Lafayette, Boulder, Brighton
Position Overview
The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for the oversight of clinical operations, ensuring
adherence to established standards of care, regulatory requirements, and organizational
protocols. This position requires an advanced clinical degree (RN, PA, or NP) and demonstrated
proficiency in, or a willingness to learn, wound care, patient triage and pathology reporting.
Working with the Clinic Coordinator, the Clinical Supervisor will also be responsible for ensuring
hiring, training, and supervising medical assistants, supporting quality initiatives, and
maintaining a culture of clinical excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
● Clinical Leadership: Direct and supervise daily clinical operations to ensure the
consistent delivery of safe, high-quality patient care.
● Wound Care Management: Establish and run a practice Wound Care clinic. Manage
post-op surgical wounds with support from BVCD's providers.
● Patient Triage: Assess and prioritize patient needs, coordinate care with physicians,
and ensure timely intervention.
● Training and Development: Provide mentorship and continuing education to MA staff
to ensure a high standard of care.
● Compliance: Monitor compliance with internal policies, clinical protocols, and
state/federal regulatory standards.
● Quality Reporting: Oversee and manage Merit Based Incentive Payment System
(MIPS) to ensure compliance and optimize performance metrics.
● Collaboration: Partner with internal and external physicians, physician assistants,
medical assistants, pathologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care
and improve patient outcomes.
Qualifications
● Advanced degree in Nursing (RN), Physician Assistant (PA), or Nurse Practitioner (NP)
required.
● Current, unrestricted license to practice in Colorado.
● Minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience preferred. Preferably in dermatology,
oncology, or wound care.
● Prior experience in staff supervision and recruitment preferred.
● Proficiency in triage protocols and wound management techniques, or motivation to
learn.
● Demonstrated ability to interpret and communicate complex pathology findings.
● Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
● Commitment to quality improvement and patient-centered, collaborative medical care.
