What are the responsibilities and job description for the Resident Services Volunteer- Senior Activities position at Boulder Housing Partners?
Resident Services is seeking a friendly, dependable volunteer to help create opportunities for connection, engagement, and fun for older adult residents. The volunteer will support and/or lead activities that encourage social interaction, creativity, movement, and lifelong learning while helping residents feel connected to their community.
Responsibilities may include:
- Plan and facilitate activities such as games, crafts, art, music, reading groups, puzzles, or seasonal celebrations.
- Encourage residents to participate and create a welcoming, inclusive environment.
- Spend time visiting and engaging with residents who may benefit from additional social connection.
- Help set up, facilitate, and clean up activities and community events.
- Work with Resident Services staff to identify activities that reflect residents’ interests and abilities.
- Communicate any resident needs or concerns observed during activities to Resident Services staff.
Ideal Volunteer: Someone who is patient, personable, reliable, and enjoys spending time with older adults. Previous experience working with seniors is helpful but not required. The most important qualities are warmth, respect, creativity, and a genuine interest in building community.
