Weekends Only - 5 AM to 1:30 PM
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB
- To take orders and deliver meals in a respectful and friendly manner
- To keep Dining Room clean, orderly and in good repair
- Ability to demonstrate good judgment and the ability to make decisions.
- To keep all food and supply storage areas neat and organized
- To have knowledge of how to operate equipment in the kitchen in a safe a proper manner
- Assist in unloading freight in a timely and safe manner, putting all items in their proper manner
- Cook’s Helper role would help prepare food that is tasty, healthy and eye appealing
- Cook’s Helper role would be able to follow recipes and instructions from Head Cook
- To follow Director of Dining Services and/or Cook’s directions.
- To foster a favorable first impression through food quality and presentation, greeting tenants, visitors and the public.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Responsible to perform the following according to Boulder Estates’ facility standards, procedures and individualized Tenant’s plan of care:
DINING SERVICES
Serving Ability to take Tenant’s order and properly present it to the Cook.
Must be friendly, efficient, and respectful. Must be able to deliver meal in a safe and orderly manner.
Inventory Keep track of items used and report over usage to Director
Food Prep Ability to follow a recipe and prepare food that is tasty, healthy and
eye appealing, preparing amount of food that the Cook specifies.
Communication Must be able to communicate with Tenants and staff in a manner that
is easily understandable and heard.
Cleaning Keeps cooking areas and Dining Room areas clean. Follows
procedures
Regulations Follows state and federal regulations.
Health Codes Must be knowledgeable about current health codes and complying
with them.
Documentation Must complete required documentation.
COMMUNICATION
Information Processing Properly directs information, mail and phone messages to appropriate people.
Tenant Status Observes and reports tenants’ conditions to appropriate staff
Cooperation Works with team members and other staff members in a helpful, respectful and courteous manner.
Socialization Assists Tenants in meeting their social needs through interaction with staff, family and other Tenants
Customer Service Responds appropriately to Tenant’s requests for help and maintains positive relationships with Tenants’ family members and friends. Has the ability to relate and communicate with Tenants, staff, visitors and supervisors.
Public Relations Positively promotes Boulder Estates in the community.

Property Safeguards Tenants’ property
Dining & Living Areas Keeps Dining Room, tables, chairs and common areas pleasant and orderly.
Privacy/Confidentiality Maintains Tenant’s self-esteem, privacy and confidentiality of personal information.
Independence / Choice Provides Tenants with opportunities for independence and choice when preparing meal menus.
Advocacy Assures Tenant rights are protected and that all Tenants, families/significant others are made aware of Tenant rights
SAFETY
Procedures Maintains safe work practices and follows facility safety procedures.
Chemicals Safely use cleaning chemicals for sanitizing and disinfecting. Provide employees with written or verbal directions on proper use of cleaning chemicals.
Equipment Safely operates equipment, knives, and utensils.
Lifting Demonstrates and uses safe lifting techniques for essential or marginal tasks of the positions, as wells as monitors and corrects employees. Ability to frequently lift thirty-five (35) pounds
Body Ability to stand on feet (static standing); walk on hard and possibly slick surfaces; repetitively use upper extremities; bend, stoop or squat, as in retrieving items from shelves below waist height.
Transferring Ability to transfer hot and cold items in a safe manner
INFECTION CONTROL
Follows facility infection control procedures
OTHER BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Attendance Arrives on time for work and is ready to perform assigned tasks
Hygiene/Appearance Meets facility hygiene and appearance standard
Time Management Prioritizes and completes work assignments within reasonable and agreed-upon time frames.
Conduct Follows facility conduct standards and policies and procedures performing all work alcohol and drug-free
Training/Meetings Meets requirements for in-service training and meeting attendance per facility policy and state and federal requirements
Other Duties Other duties and responsibilities as assigned or requested.
MINIMUM HIRING REQUIREMENT
Prior Experience Prior work experience with Food Service is preferred.
