$21.80 - $32.70 an hour - Half-Time Days, 24 hours per week
Boulder Community Health is seeking an Exercise Specialist who will provide direct patient care in the Cardiopulmonary departments under the direction of the Cardiac Services Director. Assumes responsibility and accountability for performing all phases of cardiac testing and delegated patient care duties for inpatients and outpatients with Cardiology provider supervision

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a health science related field or two years of relevant work experience in cardiac testing required.
Completion of a formalized nursing, allied health program, or one year of practical experience preferred
Training and experience with cardiac invasive, non-invasive, stress testing, holter monitoring, EKG, and direct patient care preferred
BLS certification required within 90 days.
ACLS certification required within 90 days
One year experience with non-invasive cardiac testing in an inpatient or clinic setting preferred
Responsibilities
Explains purpose and test procedure to the patient.
Explains risks and safety precautions to the patient.
Prepares patient for procedure and coordinates procedure with other staff.
Performs testing procedures ordered by provider in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures.
Documents all necessary patient data, vital signs, symptoms, arrhythmias, other abnormalities or modifications in testing procedures.
Works in conjunction with nuclear and ultrasound technicians, nurses, M.A.s, providers, and scheduling staff and maintains appropriate communication.
Select appropriate stress testing protocols based on patient mobility, symptoms, and/or EKG indications.
Analyzes EKGs, communicates subjective patient information and medical history and coordinated findings to the appropriate provider.
May be required to do moderately complex lab testing.
Reports to RN or physician abnormal patient data findings.
Ability to respond appropriately to medical emergencies.
Completes all necessary patient records.
Distributes reports to appropriate physicians, departments or offices.
Maintains material and emergency equipment supplies within the department.
Assists Director with evaluation of new equipment and supplies.
Assists with development of house-wide and department standards, QI projects, reports and committee duties.
Seeks opportunities to maintain and enhance job knowledge and skills.
