We are currently seeking a talented and enthusiastic individual to join our Business Transaction Group. This team offers advisory services to help our clients evaluate the risks and rewards of complex business transactions. Our approach is customized for each client, offering a full menu of integrated service or an ala-carte approach.  Our offerings include a range of financial, consulting, and valuation services to help clients achieve their investment objectives.  We work with clients in all stages of an investment’s life cycle including pre-deal diligence and modeling support, post-deal financial reporting guidance, life cycle marks and investor services. 

The Boulay Financial Due Diligence Manager is responsible for helping clients navigate complex transactions by providing financial due diligence services in mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. This individual would be responsible for managing and executing engagements in areas such as financial due diligence and transaction consulting matters. This individual will be key in helping our clients understand, analyze, and evaluate various deal matters, business opportunities, and challenges. This position is responsible for leading project scheduling and coordination of most projects, developing/training staff, and involves working cross-departmentally with other Boulay Departments to effectively accomplish projects and tasks and transition clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of an engagement including:
    • Lead and manage engagement workstreams
    • Develop/Review detailed reports and perform complex analyses, including the analysis of cash flows, quality of assets and earnings, working capital, potential liabilities and risks, and the impact of findings on the purchase price of the target organization    
    • Advise clients on how to maximize opportunities and minimize risks related to mergers and acquisitions and provide recommendations in the context of deal structuring alternatives    
    • Possess the ability to review and provide feedback regarding project reports prepared by engagement team members.  
    • Train in less experienced staff. 
  • Evaluate and resolve complex technical accounting issues
  • Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality  
  • Manage and work on multiple projects of varying size and complexity related to financial due diligence and transaction consulting for business owners, private equity groups, search funds, and family offices    
  • Play an integral role in developing relationships with current and prospective clients, identify market opportunities and articulate our value proposition    
  • Ensure that “best practices” are developed and used within the Transaction Group, including policies, processes, and tools. 
  • Effectively oversee and review the work of less experienced staff with poise and professionalism, especially during peak work periods 
  • Assign work to less experienced staff based on their knowledge and capabilities.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 
  • 6 years of overall experience and 4 years of related due diligence experience  
  • In-depth knowledge of US GAAP accounting principles 
  • Demonstrated career progression, including assuming additional responsibility for deliverables to clients, senior engagement team members, etc. 
  • Extensive experience in project management including planning, organizing, coordinating, and managing staff, and clients, toward the successful completion of a project 
  • Demonstrates adaptability, strong attention to detail, and the ability to quickly learn new processes, apply accounting concepts, and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Excels in independent work and collaboration, with strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal English while managing multiple priorities.
  • Preferred:  
    • CPA or CFA

The annual salary range for this position is: $120,000 - $165,000. This salary range reflects the anticipated responsibilities and qualifications of a successful candidate for this role. Final compensation may vary depending upon an individual’s experience, knowledge, and skills. Individuals may be eligible for additional compensation in the form of incentives, commissions, profit sharing, and more, depending on the role.
