Position Summary
We are seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Part-Time Receptionist to join our team at a busy dog daycare, boarding, grooming, and training facility. This position serves as the first point of contact for our clients and their pets, providing exceptional customer service while managing front desk operations, scheduling appointments, and supporting daily facility functions.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service
- Greet clients and their pets in a friendly, professional manner.
- Answer incoming phone calls, emails, and text messages promptly.
- Assist customers with daycare, boarding, grooming, and training inquiries.
- Check dogs in and out for services while ensuring accurate records.
- Address customer concerns and escalate issues to management when necessary.
Administrative Duties
- Schedule and confirm appointments for grooming, daycare evaluations, boarding reservations, and training sessions.
- Process payments and maintain accurate transaction records.
- Update customer and pet information in the facility management software.
- Maintain organized client files and vaccination records.
- Assist with daily reporting and administrative tasks.
Facility Support
- Coordinate communication between front desk staff and pet care team members.
- Monitor facility capacity and scheduling needs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
- Assist with retail sales, product recommendations, and inventory display.
- Ensure all required pet documentation and vaccination records are current.
Team Support
- Work collaboratively with daycare attendants, groomers, trainers, and management.
- Assist during busy check-in and check-out periods.
- Support special events, promotions, and client education initiatives.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous customer service, receptionist, veterinary, kennel, grooming, or pet care experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working around dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn scheduling software.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with frequent noise and activity from dogs.
- Ability to safely interact with animals.
Schedule
- Part-time position, approximately [15–30] hours per week.
- Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and peak pet care seasons as needed.
- Morning, evening, and rotating shifts may be required.
