OurView will serve the patient-physician need by preparing CUSTOM FORMULATIONS. Upon physician request, medications will be prepared according to the patient's demographic and specific etiological requirements. Areas of focus in pharmaceutical care will include but are not limited to, medication problem-solving, customized hormone replacement therapy for men and women, diabetes (shoe program), wound care, pain management, nutraceutical support, drug regimen reviews, and medication case management.

About The Role

The Patient Care Specialist plays a critical role in delivering exceptional healthcare experiences by providing compassionate, patient-centered support throughout the care journey. This position is responsible for coordinating patient interactions, facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers, and ensuring that patient needs are met efficiently and respectfully. The role requires a deep understanding of healthcare processes, patient rights, and confidentiality standards to advocate effectively on behalf of patients. By managing appointments, addressing patient concerns, and assisting with care plans, the Patient Care Specialist helps improve patient satisfaction and outcomes. Ultimately, this role contributes to a positive healthcare environment by fostering trust, empathy, and clear communication between patients and the medical team.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; secondary degree preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare systems, and patient privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact empathetically with diverse patient populations.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard office software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience working with insurance verification and billing processes.
  • Training or experience in conflict resolution and patient advocacy.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, addressing inquiries and providing information about services, procedures, and care plans.
  • Coordinate scheduling of patient appointments, follow-ups, and referrals to ensure timely access to care.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, administrative staff, and insurance representatives to facilitate seamless patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
  • Assist patients in understanding their treatment options, insurance coverage, and financial responsibilities.
  • Identify and escalate patient concerns or barriers to care to appropriate clinical or administrative personnel.
  • Support patient education initiatives by providing resources and guidance tailored to individual needs.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities aimed at enhancing patient experience and operational efficiency.

The Patient Care Specialist utilizes strong communication skills daily to effectively listen to patient concerns and convey complex medical information in an understandable manner. Organizational skills are essential for managing multiple patient schedules, coordinating care activities, and maintaining accurate records. Salary : $40,000 - $55,000
