The Information Technology Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Brenham, TX, responsible for supporting the company’s IT infrastructure and end users. This role installs, configures, and maintains workstations, printers, peripherals, and standard software applications, ensuring systems are secure, updated, and operational. The technician responds to help desk requests, troubleshoots hardware and software issues, and escalates complex incidents as needed. Daily work includes managing user accounts and access, monitoring network connectivity issues, and supporting Branch locations. The role also helps document procedures, supports user onboarding and offboarding, and participates in basic IT projects, upgrades, and preventative maintenance activities.
Qualifications:Responsibilities
- Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (scanners, printers etc.)
- Ability to train users on new systems, tools, and best practices in a clear, patient, and structured way
- Check computer hardware, including end-user peripherals, to ensure functionality
- Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
- Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance
- Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
- Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
- Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work
- Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
- Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule, including a helpdesk management system
- Familiarity with ticketing systems, asset management, and cybersecurity practices
- Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders
- Travel within a 60 mile radius to multiple locations to assist users and maintain systems
- Ability to lift and move computer equipment and work on-site during standard business hours
- Occasional after-hours support as needed to support business needs
Requirements
- 5 years of proven experience as an IT Technician or relevant position
- Foundational knowledge of information technology concepts, including operating systems, endpoints, and standard business applications
- Experience in the Real Estate/Title sector a plus
- Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills
- Excellent Customer service and communication skills to support users at all levels of the organization
- Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
- In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
- Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
- Associate degree or technical certification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Certification as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A , Microsoft Certified IT Professional)
