We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing team. This position plays a key role in managing vendor relationships, processing invoices, ensuring accurate payment of company expenses, and supporting the overall accounting function. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process high-volume accounts payable invoices accurately and timely
- Review and verify invoice coding, approvals, and supporting documentation
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare weekly check runs, ACH payments, and credit card reconciliations
- Maintain vendor files and ensure up-to-date W-9s and tax information
- Communicate with vendors regarding billing questions, credits, and payment status
- Assist with month-end closing activities including accruals and reporting
- Support the accounting team with special projects or cross-functional tasks as needed
- Follow internal controls and company policies to ensure accuracy and compliance
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred
- Experience with multi-company / multi-entity accounting a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience in construction or a similar fast-paced environment is helpful but not required
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $50,000 – $60,000, based on experience
