Satellite Feedyard Manager

Bott Cattle Co Inc
Palmer, KS Full Time
POSTED ON 9/2/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 12/30/2026

Bott Cattle Co. Inc. is a fourth-generation, family-operated, diversified feedyard that also includes row-crop farming and a renewable natural gas facility scheduled to come online at the end of 2026. Located south of Palmer, Kansas, about 50 miles northwest of Manhattan, Bott Cattle has been raising quality beef in Washington County for generations.

The home feedyard, where cattle are finished to harvest weight, has a one-time capacity of 8,500 head. The yard includes open-lot staging pens and a 1,000-head deep-pit confinement barn built in 2020. Two larger barns are currently under construction to support the renewable natural gas facility.

We also operate a 1,000-head satellite yard 1.5 miles from the home yard. Cattle are received there, sorted into lot-sized groups, processed, grown, and then moved to the home yard for finishing as pen space becomes available.

On the farming side, we raise corn, soybeans, and triticale to support both the cattle and the broader operation. Triticale is chopped in the spring for feed, while corn is harvested as high-moisture corn, dry corn, or silage depending on the needs of the feedyard.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys livestock, teamwork, and the day-to-day pace of a growing cattle operation.

We are currently hiring a satellite yard manager to help lead this part of our growing operation. Feedlot experience is preferred but not required; the right candidate will bring a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and an interest in growing with a fourth-generation family business. Relocation assistance is available if needed. Please see the following job description for more details
