JOB SUMMARY

The Manager of Facilities Management, Environmental Services, and Laundry/Linen is responsible for the overall leadership, planning, coordination, and daily operations of Facilities Management, Environmental Services, and Laundry & Linen departments. This position ensures a safe, clean, functional, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, providers, and team members by providing effective leadership of staff, maintaining regulatory compliance, managing departmental resources, and promoting continuous improvement.
The Manager collaborates with organizational leaders to support the mission and strategic goals of Bothwell Regional Health Center while ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and accreditation standards related to facilities, environmental services, infection prevention, life safety, and linen management.
The Manager reports directly to the Director of Facilities Management, Environmental Services and Laundry & Linen.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
High school diploma.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
None 

Work Experience:
Minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience in facilities management, environmental services, healthcare operations, hospitality, or related field.
Previous supervisory or management experience required.
Hospital experience preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES:

Provides leadership, supervision, coaching, and performance management for the Facilities Management, Environmental Services, and Laundry/Linen departments.
Assist Director with planning, organizing, coordinating, and directs daily departmental operations to provide a safe, clean, functional, and efficient healthcare environment.
Develops work schedules and staffing plans to ensure appropriate departmental coverage and timely completion of work assignments.
Oversees preventive maintenance programs and monitors completion of work orders to ensure equipment reliability, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.
Ensures the effective utilization of personnel, equipment, supplies, and financial resources while promoting fiscal responsibility.
Promotes and enforces safe work practices and maintains compliance with applicable, Joint Commission, OSHA, CMS, NFPA, Life Safety Code, infection prevention, and other regulatory standards.
Oversees environmental cleaning and disinfection programs to ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection prevention practices, and accreditation standards.
Oversees laundry and linen operations to ensure appropriate inventory levels, quality standards, timely distribution, and cost-effective utilization.
Collaborates with Infection Prevention, Safety, Clinical Leadership, and other departments to promote a safe and healing environment for patients, visitors, and team members.
Assists in the development, implementation, and monitoring of departmental operating and capital budgets.
Monitors departmental expenditures and identifies opportunities for operational improvement, cost containment, and process efficiencies.
Assists Director with contractor activities, facility improvement projects, and capital equipment installations while minimizing disruption to hospital operations.
Participates in emergency preparedness planning and serves as a resource during emergency response activities and facility-related incidents.
Monitors departmental performance indicators and utilizes data to improve service quality, efficiency, customer satisfaction, and regulatory readiness.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Frequent office and healthcare environment.
Frequent walking throughout hospital buildings and grounds.
Occasional exposure to hot, cold, humid, noisy, dusty, or outdoor environments.
Occasional work at heights and in confined spaces.
Frequent exposure to interruptions requiring flexibility and prioritization.
Exposure to cleaning chemicals, hazardous materials, medical waste, mechanical equipment, and other environmental hazards while utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment.
May be required to respond to facility emergencies, utility outages, severe weather events, or other operational needs outside of normal business hours.
Frequent interaction with patients, visitors, physicians, contractors, vendors, and staff throughout the organization.
