What are the responsibilities and job description for the 1-RN/GN 2SW/Surgical Short Stay; 7am -7pm; WKND Every Other; 72 hours position at Bothwell Regional Health Center?
JOB SUMMARY:
The RN / GN must have the skill and knowledge to provide population specific care. He/She must have the ability to assess, evaluate, identify, and interpret the requirement and needs of the patients and perform based on those findings.
The RN / GN reports directly to Charge Nurse/Manager/Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education:
a.) RN graduate of Accredited School of Nursing.
- Licensure/Certification:
- Must have valid, current license by the Missouri State Board of Nursing.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
(CPR)Required.
- ACLS Certification within one year of employment or, if a current employee,
by December 31.
- Work Experience:
a.) Successful completion of hospital orientation.
RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES:
- Provide guidance and provide appropriate patient care to all ages and oversee LPN’s and CNA’s.
- Documentation of care in the EMR, that is accurate and detailed of the patient’s care and conditions. This includes making sure care plan is appropriate.
- Monitor for changes in medical condition by assessments and notify physician if appropriate
- Assist with procedures by physician’s as needed. Preform nursing skills (IV starting, NG placements, dressing changes, wound care, catheter placement, ect) and provide health care for hospitalized patient.
- Scan and administer medications to patients and monitor for side effects.
- Provide protection of medical record and maintain HIPPA compliance.
- Fill out incident reports as needed for actual events and near misses.
- Other duties as assigned.
