What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Software Engineer position at Botdo Labs?
We’re a stealth-mode startup, in the Sacramento area, building AI-driven tax automation software. We need an ambitious junior engineer who actually knows their way around a computer and loves to program and build things.
The Requirements
Technical Proficiency: You should be a "computer person." This means you’re comfortable in a Linux environment and can navigate the command line.
Coding: You need to be solid in at least one programming language. We care more about your logic and ability to learn than specific syntax.
AI Interest: You should have a genuine interest in building AI-driven software. We want someone who has experimented with LLMs like Claude or Gemini and understands the basics of AI training and implementation.
Drive: We need someone hungry to build. You’ll be working on core automation features that have a direct impact on the product.
Education & Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred, or relevant experience and a proven ability to build software.
The Work
- Writing code to automate complex tax workflows.
- Integrating and testing AI models to handle data extraction and logic.
- Managing development and deployments in Linux.
- Helping train and refine our AI models for better accuracy.
