Interior Installation Horticulture Technician

Summary Description: 

The responsibility of the Interior Installation Horticulture Technician is to work with the installation team in daily deliveries of subtropical and flowering plants to all our clients. This person will also be responsible for keeping the warehouse clean and organized. Some of the work would include receiving plants off a truck that is delivering plants and caring for those plants before they are installed. Other tasks include cleaning plants, preparing plants and containers for installs, watering extra plants, and keeping areas organized.   

Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

• Must be able to operate a box truck.   

• Adhering to company maintenance inspection procedures, reporting any issues and all accidents regardless of nature immediately and respecting legal speed limits as posted   

• Understanding proper horticultural techniques and willingness to learn from a knowledgeable team.   

• Detail oriented with the ability to keep on a time schedule.  

• Able to communicate verbally and written to clients and team members   

• Able to work efficiently both individually and in a team with little supervision, making decisions with own initiative and assume responsibility for own work and performing tasks correctly to standards   

• Update and utilize customer management systems in daily work, keeping accurate and up-to-date records on all accounts, 

• Project a “good company image” always with a professional appearance, good hygiene, and a clean uniform to our customers and public in and outside of work   

• Professional mannerisms, appearance, and actions (self-confident and committed to high ethics)    

• Ensure work sites are left in better condition than when we entered them at departure, ensuring no dirt, moss or debris is left behind upon completion of service   

• Quick decision making, able to problem-solve in a fast-paced environment with strong follow-through and ongoing proactive team player   

• We can train our technical skills, but we cannot train our attitudes! You must come with a positive attitude and be a goal-oriented self-starter. 

Level Requirements:  

• Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record  

• Experience using standard landscape equipment and tools properly and safely (pruners, pole saw, power shears, and other hand tools).

The employee is frequently required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20-40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Varied Field Environment performing outdoor work with moderate to occasional loud noise. Specialized equipment, machines, or vehicles used: Lifts and Hoists. Must have the ability to stand for extended periods of time. Occasionally required to work on ledges with exposure to heights.  Comfortable on ladders with reaching to service
