PHARMACY CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE/CASHIER
Boswell Prescription Center
Full-time job schedule / 40 hours each week
Must have scheduling flexibility to work every other Saturday and variable shifts during the week.
Current pharmacy hours of operation: M-F 8:30 AM - 7:30 PM / SAT 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the pharmacist and operating by approved workflow protocol, assists the pharmacist to accurately, safely, and confidentially provide medicinal products to customers in a retail setting.
To succeed in this role you:
-Must conduct each customer transaction safely, efficiently, and compassionately
-Must be able to multi-task with calmness and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
-Must work well as part of a team and still maintain individual accountability to personal and operational success
-Must achieve, after a reasonable training period, and continuously demonstrate thereafter competence with various processes, such as, but not limited to;
- Interacting with customers at the counter, on the phone, and on the sales floor, and
- Obtaining and neatly recording information relative to each customer's prescription order, and
- Finding the right prescription for the customer, and
- Maintaining the store's organized format for efficient prescription retrieval, and
- Using various computer screens to aid in customer service, sales transactions, and inventory assessment, and
- Understanding and following laws, policies, and practices relative to the protection and privacy of each customer and their information as well as that of Martella's Pharmacy.
This job requires standing 100% of the time. The pharmacy customer service representative/cashier must also be able to:
- Attentively listen
- Approach and speak to customers
- Reach, bend, and crouch
- Initiate action to resolve or prevent concerns related to cleanliness, safety, or security
- Place labels on individual medicine containers or retail merchandise
- Use calculators, computers, point-of-sale registers, and scanners
All location employees must contribute to a clean and healthy work environment.
Priority consideration will be given to applicants with at least one full calendar year of successful work experience in a retail pharmacy. The pharmacy customer service representative/cashier job requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Additional education in pharmacy or medical programs may be helpful but is not required.
We offer a starting hourly rate that is competitive. Pharmacy customer service representative/cashier applicants with at least one full year of job success will be offered a rate at mid-range or higher.
All employees are required to work Saturdays and expected to have scheduling flexibility throughout the week. Saturdays are scheduled on a rotational basis but there may be an occasional variance.
Martella's Pharmacy smocks or shirts are provided.
