About Us

At Boston’s Bridge To Excellence, we believe every child carries limitless potential. Our after-school program creates a safe, joyful space where curiosity grows, confidence takes root, and families feel supported. Together, we build the bridge to lifelong success.

Position Overview

We’re looking for a Lead Teacher/Director who brings both leadership and heart. This person will guide daily programming, support staff, and nurture strong relationships with children, families, and schools. In this role, you set the tone for a warm, structured, and inspiring environment where every child feels seen and capable.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership

  • Oversee daily operations of the after-school site, ensuring a safe, engaging, and welcoming environment.

  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons, activities, and enrichment experiences.

  • Foster a culture of curiosity, respect, and enthusiasm for learning.

Child Development & Family Partnership

  • Build trusting relationships with children and monitor their social, emotional, and academic growth.

  • Communicate regularly with families, offering insights, encouragement, and partnership.

  • Collaborate with schools and community partners to support student success.

Team Management

  • Supervise, coach, and mentor program staff and volunteers.

  • Lead team meetings, provide ongoing feedback, and support professional development.

  • Model patience, positivity, and high expectations for the team and children.

Administration & Compliance

  • Maintain attendance records, incident reports, and required documentation.

  • Ensure program meets licensing standards and organizational policies.

  • Manage scheduling, supplies, and site logistics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or related field preferred.

  • At least 2–3 years of experience working with school-aged children; leadership experience strongly valued.

  • Strong communication, organization, and team-building skills.

  • Ability to create a learning environment that is inclusive, joyful, and grounded in respect for all children and families.

What We Value

I look for leaders who bring both skill and heart—people who believe, as I do, that early learning is the foundation of life. At our program, we work as a team, we celebrate children’s unique gifts, and we rise to challenges together. If you’re passionate about shaping brighter futures, you’ll feel right at home with us.

Join Us

When we guide children with intention and love, we help them discover who they can become. If you’re ready to lead with purpose and make a lasting impact, we’d love to welcome you to our community.

Together, we can build the bridge to lifelong success.
