Driver / Route Technician

Porta Rental is hiring a Driver / Route Technician to deliver, service, and pick up portable toilets across our service area. This is a hands-on, route-based role that keeps our units clean, stocked, and ready for customers at construction sites, events, and municipal locations. You'll operate a service truck along an assigned daily route and represent the company directly to our customers, so reliability and a professional attitude are essential.

## Key Responsibilities

- Deliver, place, and pick up portable toilet units at customer locations according to the daily route schedule.
- Service units on site: pump and dispose of waste, clean interior and exterior surfaces, and sanitize each unit to company standards.
- Restock supplies (toilet paper, hand sanitizer, deodorizer, and related consumables) at each stop.
- Perform on-site inventory and maintenance tasks: inspect units for damage, make minor repairs or flag units needing service, and keep an accurate count of units in the field.
- Load, secure, and transport units safely to and from the service yard.
- Maintain accurate service records and route documentation, including confirmations of stops completed.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; keep the truck and equipment clean and in working order.
- Follow all company safety procedures and applicable DOT, environmental, and waste-handling regulations.
- Communicate professionally with customers and dispatch to resolve issues and confirm service.

## Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding, outdoor role. The essential functions of the position require the ability to:

- Frequently lift, carry, push, pull, and maneuver items and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs, and use equipment (dollies, hand trucks, lift gates) to move portable toilet units that weigh more.
- Stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, and reach for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Climb into and out of the truck cab and service equipment repeatedly.
- Work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
- Work in and around waste and sanitation chemicals while following proper handling and PPE procedures.
- Maintain the stamina to complete a full route of multiple stops each day.

## Qualifications

**Required**
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (NO CDL Required)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently along a route with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable with the physical and outdoor nature of the work.
- Professional, customer-facing demeanor.

**Preferred (not required)**
- Prior experience in route service, delivery, waste/sanitation, or a related trade.
- CDL (Commercial Driver's License).
- Familiarity with the Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine service area.
