Description: SUMMARY
Has overall responsibility and coordinates activities of the Craft.
I. SAFETY
Leader and Initiator in Safety. Ensures team compliance with all company & OSHA regulated safety requirements/standards.
ll. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Lead and manage through daily application of ORA (Ownership-Responsibility-Accountability) Principles and safe, quality, production.
• Responsible for providing quantity and quality production in compliance with contractual requirements and/or contract specifications.
• Schedules, plans and evaluates workloads
• Motivates and instructs subordinates in order to achieve completion of work assignments safely and with quality to meet production schedules and cost estimates.
• Identify and resolves issues in the area of craft performance, production schedules, manning projections, budget requirements, etc.
• Ensure all machinery and equipment is inspected and maintained to design operational performance and optimum utilization.
• This position has budget and estimating responsibilities. Individual will schedule, plan, evaluate workloads and procure material, equipment and parts.
• Identify growth work and set up change order negotiations
• Demonstrate reliability in the performance of overtime and critical jobs
lll. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible and accountable for the performance of craft supervision, technicians, and mechanics for quality, cost, scheduling, and safety.
• Enforce worker compliance with appropriate procedures in production, accuracy control, safety, cost, environmental protection and quality assurance.
• Administer discipline in a fair manner in consultation with Human Resources to insure equitable action to correct employee behavior and performance deficiencies.
• Manage in a manner to promote a safe yard and positive employee attitude.
• Promote and advocate company policy.
• Comply with and ensure the Company’s “Non-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment Policy”.
lV. QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
V. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Associate’s Degree or equivalent from two year college or technical school; 10 years supervisory experience
Vl. MANAGEMENT ● COMMUNICATION ● LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Management: Works with minimal direction, independently determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may provide guidance to others. Determine appropriate actions, methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for expediting results by exercising independent judgment within defined practices and policies. Follows an organized method in approach to work but is cognizant of the time needed to provide a service or product.
Communication: Ability to speak effectively before others in and outside the organization. Effectively communicate and respond to questions from managers, employees, clients, customers-both internal and external, and the general public.
Language: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, production schedules, budgets, manning requirements, engineering documents, technical procedures, government regulations, common manuals and journals. Be able to write routine reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Vll. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate figures and amounts, ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Vlll. REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

X. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to tour all vessels, piers, docks, and work sites. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
