About the Role
The Development Coordinator supports Boston Scores’ fundraising, marketing, and event efforts through strong systems management, research, and logistics coordination. This position plays a vital behind-the-scenes role in ensuring operational excellence within the Development Department and supports the Engagement Manager in implementing events, communications, and donor processes.
Key Responsibilities
Development Operations
- Manage the donor database (CRM), maintaining accurate and consistent data entry and reporting.
- Process gifts, generate acknowledgements, and track donor communications.
- Complete monthly reconciliation with the Finance Team and assist with year-end reporting.
- Conduct prospect and donor research to support cultivation and stewardship strategies.
Events & Logistics
- Support planning and execution of Boston Scores’ fundraising and cultivation events.
- Manage logistical details including invitations, RSVP tracking, materials, and on-site needs.
- Coordinate with vendors, volunteers, and committee members under the supervision of the Engagement Manager.
Marketing & Communications Support
- Draft and post social media updates, newsletters, and website content as assigned.
- Assist in maintaining brand consistency across print and digital materials.
- Help collect and organize photos, stories, and impact data for use in communications.
Administrative & Team Support
- Provide administrative support to the Engagement Manager and Chief Development Officer.
- Maintain department files, shared drives, and templates for consistent documentation.
- Support cross-departmental projects as needed to advance fundraising and awareness goals.
Skills and Qualifications
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., communications, marketing, business) or equivalent experience
- Ability to learn and navigate CRM platforms; comfort with data entry, reporting, and data hygiene best practices.
- Basic proficiency with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn) and scheduling tools.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with various stakeholders, including donors and volunteers.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines in fast-paced event environments.
- Understanding of basic brand consistency principles across print and digital channels.
- Passion for the mission of Boston SCORES, and commitment to equality and inclusion.
- Proactive, resourceful, and eager to learn within a fast-paced nonprofit environment.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Prior experience in a non-profit events, communications, or administrative support.
- Familiarity with CRM or donor management systems (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, Bloomerang) a plus.
- Comfort working with website content management systems (WordPress, Squarespace).
- Experience designing digital and print materials (social graphics, flyers, event collateral) while maintaining brand consistency.
- Experience coordinating event logistics, such as guest lists, RSVPs, vendor communication, materials preparation, and on-site support.
Compensation and Environment
- Competitive salary of $55,000
