Experience in athletics programming or youth development

POSITION SUMMARY

The School Athletics Participation Coordinator manages student registration, eligibility, and compliance for school sports programs. They ensure all safety and participation requirements are met while working with staff, coaches, and families to create a positive, inclusive athletic experience. A key focus of the role is to actively encourage and increase student participation by promoting opportunities, reducing barriers, and fostering a welcoming environment for all students.

Demonstrate leadership in troubleshooting challenges, and ensure increased access and opportunity for all students.

Coordinate school  K–5 athletic programming, communication, gain participation

Support volunteer coaches, ensuring alignment with district philosophy and safety standards

Collaborate with sport and school specific coaches and District Youth Athletics Coordinator 

Serve as a liaison between school administration, coaches, and parents to ensure smooth communication and program operations.

Monitor school wide participation in extracurricular activities 

Ensure alignment with district facility use policies and safety guidelines

Organize parent & coaching meetings to grow participation youth extracurricular activities

Demonstrate a commitment to professional growth.

Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills.

Demonstrate punctuality and regular attendance. 

Help create a welcoming atmosphere that encourages participation from students of all backgrounds and ability levels.

Help coordinate practice, schedules, facility use, and transportation as needed.

Provide timely updates and clear information to parents/guardians regarding participation requirements, schedules, and expectations.

Track trends in student involvement and help develop strategies to improve access and engagement in youth athletics.

Maintain appropriate professional appearance.

Perform other duties consistent with the position assigned as may be requested by the Principal or District Youth Athletics Coordinator
