We are seeking an experienced Dispatcher to join our team!
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate with drivers throughout the day regarding deliveries, changes to schedule, traffic patterns and to ensure prompt, courteous, and safe delivery of our product
- Communicate effectively with customers to determine order details and job site requirements
- Use GPS software to monitor truck statuses and to hunt trucks in a status too long
- Dispatch and schedule loads to maximize profitability and guarantee customer satisfaction
- Ensure that detailed information on assigned loads is relayed to drivers and completely understood
- Monitor truck activity via radio and GPS to maintain timely schedules and delivery of orders
- Use concrete dispatch software, GPS and two-way radios
- Maintain goals with KPIs set by management team
Qualifications
- 3-5 years’ experience dispatching in the trucking or related industry
- Must be able to work up to 50 hours per week (10-hour days) with up to one Saturday per month
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, occasionally requiring early morning or late-night work, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays
- Must have experience with GPS tracking systems
- Must have computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and maintain composure under pressure
- Able to work well independently and as part of a team
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
- Possess effective communication skills, both oral and written
- Be self-motivated, receptive to feedback and have the ability to think critically
