Summary: The speech language pathologist is a related service provider and member of an interdisciplinary team of educators. Speech Language pathologists are responsible for ensuring that students are appropriately identified and for providing speech and language interventions that support students’ academic, social, and emotional achievement in compliance with all Federal and State mandates. Major Responsibilities: Participation in the regular education pre-referral process students Evaluation and assessment of students with diagnosed or suspected language disorders Participation in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings with parents Participation in development of Individualized Education Plans (IEP) for students in need of special education services Delivery of speech language services in the least restrictive environment according to an approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) for 504 Plan Education and inform teachers on strategies, accommodations, and modifications for supporting the success of students with speech language disabilities in accessing the standard curriculum Educate and support parents and families surrounding a students’ speech language delay and/or diagnosis Communications and collaboration with agencies both medical and educational, outsides of the Boston Renaissance charter Public School to ensure the most effective diagnosis and delivery of services students with speech and language disorders/delays Morning Duty: Includes active supervision of hallways and classroom. Afternoon Duty: Includes active supervision of dismissal process. Additional duties may be assigned without additional compensation or stipend Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree Required MS preferred Massachusetts license for Speech, Language, and Hearing disorders and Commonwealth of Massachusetts license as Speech Language Pathologist Minimum of one year experience working in a school setting as an SLP Demonstrated ability to work in a team setting
