About the Role
Boston Rehabilitation Center is seeking a motivated, dependable, and skilled Maintenance Technician to support our facility in Wareham, MA.
We are looking for a hands-on professional who can work independently, identify and resolve maintenance issues, and take ownership of keeping our facility operating safely and efficiently.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a broad maintenance skillset who is comfortable wearing multiple hats, managing competing priorities, and responding to maintenance needs as they arise.
What You’ll Do
- Complete daily maintenance requests throughout the facility.
- Perform general repairs involving HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and other building systems.
- Diagnose maintenance issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Complete repairs independently when within scope and coordinate outside vendors when necessary.
- Develop and maintain preventative maintenance schedules.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and facility inspections.
- Provide updates and estimated timelines for maintenance projects and repairs.
- Assist with budgeting and planning for maintenance projects.
- Develop relationships with outside vendors and negotiate rates for services and projects.
- Coordinate and monitor vendor work performed at the facility.
- Assist with fleet vehicle maintenance and coordination.
- Complete maintenance checklists, inspection forms, and other required documentation.
- Respond to after-hours maintenance needs as required.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and functional environment for clients and staff.
- Complete additional maintenance and facility-related responsibilities as needed.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of experience in general maintenance and repairs.
- At least 1 year of experience with carpentry, plumbing, electrical repair, and air conditioning, or an equivalent combination of training and hands-on experience.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot and diagnose maintenance issues.
- Strong organization and time-management skills.
- Ability to remain flexible and adapt quickly when priorities or schedules change.
- Strong communication and follow-through.
- Ability to take accountability and ownership of assigned projects.
- Comfortable coordinating with contractors and outside vendors.
- Valid, active driver’s license required.
- Ability to respond to occasional after-hours maintenance needs.
Schedule & Compensation
Salary: $52k–$56k annually, based on experience
