Position Overview:
Boston Plasterers’ & Cement Masons’ Local 534 Trust Funds Office is seeking a detail oriented and highly organized Funds Administrator to oversee the financial operations of the union’s benefit funds. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate fund management, compliance with individual Plan policies, adherence to Department of Labor regulations, and effective coordination with trustees, vendors, and members. The Trust Funds Office is a very fast-paced work environment with emphasis on accuracy. Candidates must have a strong work ethic and possess the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment. Experience in general ledger and reconciliation processes required. Position is full time in office Monday thru Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m..
Key Responsibilities:
· Administer and manage all union benefit funds
· Maintenance and preparation of comprehensive financial statements and reporting
· Coordinate with third-party auditors, attorneys, and administrators
· Monitor contributions, disbursements, and overall fund performance
· Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations (including ERISA)
· Prepare reports for trustees and direct board meetings
· Assisting in the preparation/processing of various tax returns and reporting, including but not limited to: Form 990, Form 550, actuarial reports, and financial drafts
· Process monthly health insurance wires and investment wires
· Monitor monthly cash flow projections
· Communicating with members on various union benefits
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
· 5 years of experience in fund administration, accounting, or benefits management
· Knowledge of ERISA and multiemployer benefit plans
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
· Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
