What are the responsibilities and job description for the OverNight Residential Division Supervisor position at Boston Higashi School?
JOB GOAL: The Overnight Division Supervisor works with the Residential Director to develop and implement a safe and effective day-to-day operation in the Residential Program. The Overnight Division Supervisor is responsible for supervision of Assistant Division Supervisors, Master Teachers and Residential Instructors, and reporting staff and student issues to the Residential Director and appropriate administrative staff.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise Assistant Division Supervisors, Master Teachers and Residential Instructors.
- Train Staff in the methods of Daily Life Therapy.
- Attend to the personal needs of the students while teaching normal daily living skills in accordance with Daily Life Therapy.
- Review policies and procedures with staff on an ongoing basis.
- Manage the overall operation of assigned divisions, and provide support whenever needed.
- Develop an awareness of overnight and day program procedures, and maintain a positive relationship through on-going communication with overnight and day program staff.
- Provide both written and verbal evaluations for Residential Instructors in conjunction with the Residential Director.
- Maintain continuous information sharing, including staff, student and environmental issues, with the Residential Director through both written and verbal reports.
- Coordinate daily staff coverage
- Participate in all student activities including extensive physical exercise and other various forms of exercise, if covering an afternoon or evening shift.
- Respond to parents’ communication promptly, respectfully and discreetly and record according to designated procedures.
- Responsible for reporting staff and student issues to the Residential Director and appropriate administrative staff.
- Plan and develop residential events and staff inservice under the guidance of the Residential Director.
- Participate in IEP meetings and team meetings as requested by the Residential Director.
- Maintain positive and on-going communications with all persons while representing the school.
- Assist with the orientation of new staff.
- Participate in and lead daily and staff meetings.
- Encourage the sharing of expertise and materials among staff to enhance quality service delivery.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Residential Director and Assistant Residential Directors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree; or relevant experience and expertise
- 1 years experience working with Daily Life Therapy
- Strong communication, organizational and managerial skills
- High level of interpersonal and teaching skills
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment
- Posses a high level of professionalism and leadership qualities
