JOB DESCRIPTION:
The goal of the EEC Licensed Teacher is to supervise and maintain the safety of the children, being alert for the needs of the individual child as well as the group and to follow curriculum as outlined by the Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and implement lesson plans and activities including outdoor play.
- Be familiar with, and follow all preschool policies.
- Set limits for children that are fair and consistent
- Handle discipline promptly and in accordance with school policy.
- Prepare lunch and snacks for the children.
- Be friendly and welcome parents when they visit.
- Keep parents informed through daily communication.
- Conduct individual conferences with parents of each child at least twice yearly.
- Decorate the room with bulletin boards, pictures, children’s art work and other hangings.
- Keep classroom, storage rooms, kitchen and bathroom clean, neat and orderly.
- Report to Director any special needs or problems of individual children, including suspected child abuse.
- Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings and training as required by EEC.
- Assist Director in the organization of parties, programs, and any other special activities throughout the year.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school degree or equivalent
- Must be Early Education and Care (EEC) certified.
- Must be able to relate well to children
- Must have initiative and excellent communication skills.
- Must be able to work in a multicultural environment.
