JOB TITLE: Assembly Supervisor
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assembly Supervisor to join our operations team. This position oversees a group of technicians in the assembly of electro-mechanical products, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, hands-on manufacturing experience, and a solid understanding of lean principles and continuous improvement practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of assembly technicians in the department.
· Actively participate in assembly and production processes as needed to meet schedules.
· Plan, assign, and monitor daily work orders to ensure timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
· Enforce operational procedures and safety protocols to meet company goals for quality, efficiency, and compliance.
· Maintain accurate records of employee attendance, evaluations, and performance.
· Oversee and maintain safety and quality documentation for ongoing audits and certifications.
· Identify and implement opportunities for Continuous Improvement (CI) to streamline operations and reduce waste.
· Participate in daily production meetings to review shop capacity, schedules, and priorities.
· Apply lean manufacturing techniques to enhance productivity and reduce cycle time.
· Foster a positive team environment focused on communication, accountability, and professional development.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
· Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment involving electric assemblies (metal product experience preferred)
· Proven experience in make-to-order and build-to-order production environments
· Proficiency with ERP Systems (Experience with Syteline preferred)
· Strong background in Lean Manufacturing, SS, or continuous flow principles
· Familiarity with UL safety standards and compliance requirements
· Basic understanding of electrical writing, termination, and testing methods
· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
· Strong leadership communication, and problem solving skills
· Ability to support a flexible work schedule, including overtime as required
· Positive, energetic and team-oriented approach to leadership
