Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Office Front Desk Associate to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth office operations. Duties
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring a positive patient experience
- Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures efficiently using systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Meditech
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility verification
- Schedule appointments accurately utilizing medical scheduling software and multi-line phone systems
- Collect payments, process co-pays, and handle medical billing
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and health information management standards
- Assist with intake procedures, including gathering medical history and updating patient information
- Handle phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette and provide excellent patient service
- Manage filing of medical records and ensure proper documentation review for accuracy and completeness
- Support office management tasks such as filing, data entry (10 key typing), and maintaining organized office workflows
- Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate care plans and ensure seamless communication between patients and providers
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a dental office or medical clinic setting is highly preferred, including familiarity with dental terminology and office management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
- Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), insurance verification, and billing procedures
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and office management tools
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally
- Bilingual abilities are advantageous for serving diverse patient populations
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and record keeping
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and accuracy
