Hiring Range: $26.32/hr to $32.88/hr. Pay rate commensurate with relevant experience.
Boston College Theatre Department seeks a full-time (35 hr/wk) Administrative Assistant. This person will report directly to the Chair of the Theatre Department and function as the operations, communications, and business manager for the Department and multiple aspects of its co-curricular theatre season.
In conjunction with the Chair, the Administrative Assistant serves as the Department's primary operational contact with the Office of Student Services, the College of Arts and Sciences Service Center, the College of Arts and Sciences Dean's Office, Information Technology Services, and the Robsham Theater Arts Center (including the Box Office). This person monitors the Theatre Department budgets and financial transactions utilizing PeopleSoft, Excel, and other tools.
The Administrative Assistant is responsible for maintaining a comprehensive information system that includes course and room schedules; faculty, student, staff, and alumni records; marketing and publicity information for Department productions; and numerous budgets.
The Administrative Assistant further supports the Department's mission by working with the Chair to plan and manage special events; coordinating visits by prospective students and prospective job candidates; managing the Theatre Department annex in the Rubenstein residence hall; maintaining the Department's website and newsletter; and supervising student office assistants.
Requirements
Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and capacity for collaboration with a wide range of people- Ability to manage a fast-paced work environment that includes supervising student employees.
- Working knowledge of theatre organizations and university environments
- Command of MS Word, Excel, desktop publishing, and website maintenance
- Experience maintaining schedules, records, budgets, and other administrative systems

- A BA or BS degree
