CUSTODIAN

SUMMARY:

Performs custodial duties, provides production support and assists in sanitation control within a one level 45,500 square foot facility.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs cleaning and janitorial duties and limited grounds maintenance
• Performs scheduled custodial duties as directed by engineering manager, including, but not limited to;
  1. Trash/recycling - empty shop floor trash/recycle bins daily, empty office trash/recycle bins daily, vacuum executive offices as required
  2. Floor cleaning - run floor scrubber across shop floor 2x/week, spot mopping as required by request & immediately following any swarf cleanup, -manage concentrate levels in cleaning fluid dispensers
  3. Paper towel, hand soap & toilet paper distribution and inventory management - manage inventory for timely re-order, replenish paper towels, hand soap and toilet paper in all washrooms and sinks
  4. Water filters - monthly changing of inline water filters in break rooms
  5. Outside trash/litter removal - -maintain trash/litter-free premises, Snow removal in high traffic areas (supplemental to regular landscaping company)
• Performs various Production Support activities including, but not limited to;
  1. Air filtration - changing of filters on RTU’s & managing filter inventory for timely re-ordering, -changing of filters on Mistbuster units
  2. Cintas consumables - mange used mop head and oil rag accumulation cart for weekly Cintas exchange, Coolant solvent and oil inventory management, periodic check to maintain awareness of inventory, timely notification for reorder
  3. Grinding wheel storage and retrieval assistance - -maintain organized storage of grinding wheel inventory in designated area, assist operators in retrieval of wheels when forklift is required
• Overseas break area to ensure coffee machines and supplies are properly stocked, cleaned and maintained
• Keeps department supplies neat and orderly, and reports supply orders to Engineering Manager.
• Reports needs for major repairs to Engineering Manager.
• Performs other duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS/BACKGROUND:

• Physically able to regularly lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stoop, push, pull and reach.
• Some custodial experience preferred.
• Current or previous forklift certification 
• Ability to speak/read and write in English
