The Opportunity
Boston Bruins is hiring Community Relations and Youth Hockey Interns to join our team at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. Are you an energetic undergraduate or graduate student who’s seeking an incredible paid internship program? Boston Bruins internships are paid and can be completed for academic credit.Our Fall internship dates typically span 10-12 weeks, running from September- December 2023. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable work experience and make an impact in a global company.
The Community Relations and Youth Hockey internship position will have an integral role within the Community Relations Department with many responsibilities on top of those listed below. Candidates must have a flexible schedule and the ability to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities
- Assist Community Relations staff with daily activities and projects.
- Contribute to the development and coordination of Community Relations and Youth Hockey programs.
- Create and assist with promotional ideas and events for current and potential Boston Bruins Community Relations strategies and sponsors.
- Write event recaps and keep a comprehensive record of media clips that cover Boston Bruins special events.
- Participate in the Bruins Game Night Staff assisting with the fulfillment of Fan Experiences and other Community Relations Activities.
- Attend and contribute to all Boston Bruins special events including Community Relations and Youth Hockey events.
- Assist at team signings, events, and appearances when necessary.
- Serve as a liaison to the community by responding to fan requests in a timely manner.
- Manage several team-related databases including those related to donations, programs, and events.
- Receive, process, and respond to local charity requests.
- Collect and respond to fan mail.
- Inventory of all signed items and premium items.
- Keep storage units organized.
- Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must have a flexible schedule and be willing to work all Bruins home games, major events, and additional community activities when asked.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required or working toward a bachelor’s degree
- Experience working with schools and children is a plus
- Excellent written communication skills and copy-writing skills
- The enthusiasm with the drive to generate new ideas and execute a vision
- Passion for excellence, attention to detail, and continual improvement
- Previous experience playing hockey is a plus but not necessary
- Knowledge of the Boston Bruins, National Hockey League, hockey culture, and hockey fans
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong communication skills
- Pass background screenings

Physical Requirements
- Applicants must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds and perform some manual labor as an essential function of the position.
