Position Summary:
The Heavy-Duty Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of trucks and equipment. This role is hands-on and fast-paced, requiring strong mechanical ability, attention to detail, and a team-first mindset. You’ll be trusted to keep equipment running safely and efficiently while supporting overall shop productivity.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Inspect, diagnose and repair heavy-duty trucks, trailers and equipment
- Maintain accurate repair orders and documentation
- Suggest additional service work when appropriate
- Meet deadlines set by the Service Manager
- Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe
- Properly use and maintain company tools and equipment
- Work closely with technicians, parts, and service teams to keep workflow moving
- Step in to support and mentor other technicians when needed
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience with:
- Heavy truck suspension, steering, and brakes
- Hydraulic systems
- Pneumatic systems
- Electrical diagnostics
- Welding and fabrication
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
- Good communication and a team-oriented mindset
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on shop environment
- Basic computer skills
- Must have your own tools
- Valid Michigan driver’s license required; CDL preferred
- Clean driving record and insurable under company policy
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs
