Summary/objective
Must have experience with estimating metals.
Responsible for compiling estimates of how much it will cost to provide a client or potential client with products or services. He or she will do this by doing material and labor takeoffs from the construction documents.
Essential functions and responsibilities
- Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
- Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
- Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
- Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
- Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintains cost data base by entering and backing up data.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications: Required education and experience
- Minimum 5 years in prior Estimating Role.
· Must have a firm Technical knowledge on the ins and outs of the industry’s typical
processes, materials, and costs. Computer literacy (MS Office applications, in
particular)
- High degree of financial know how and how it relates to job costing
- Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize important projects
- Strong phone, email and in-person communication skills
- BS in Construction or engineering, or 5 years minimum metal fabrication experience
- Ability to speak effectively to customers or to employees of the organization.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including intermediate level of knowledge in Excel.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
