The Travel Center Associate Merchandiser is responsible for maintaining inventory levels on all department categories ranging from grocery to truck accessories.

- Executes merchandising strategies and ensure products are displayed correctly to drive sales.
- Performs in-store merchandising service activities such as merchandising projects, planogram maintenance, overhead organization, and display/signage maintenance designed to enhance the customer experience.
- Keeps adequate inventory stock levels in all categories.
- Ensures that inventory is rotated according to vendors and expiration dates.
- Verifies all orders from vendors using the approved vendor check in process.
- Maintains a clean and orderly display of merchandise.
- Ensures proper costs and retails of product to maintain all margins.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with store associates and provide superior customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Responsible for all items being properly ordered; stocked to inventory levels; and priced correctly
- Performs all Sales Associate duties.
- Manages all aspects of receiving to include ordering, receiving, pricing, storing, stocking, and adding new items to inventory.
- Follows all safety policies set forth by the company policy and procedure manual.
- Projects a positive attitude.
- Maintains a safe and healthy workplace; complies with all health and safety regulations.
- Maintains weekly cost updates along with conducting monthly inventory and maintaining waste control.
- Processes returns in a timely manner.
- Coordinates with vendors to bring in new products keeping selections fresh and exciting.
- Collaborates with department supervisors and managers of specific categories.
- Provides friendly and competent customer service.
- Reports for work in a timely manner when scheduled.
- Assists in other duties, as assigned.
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Retail or guest service experience required.
- Must be 19 years of age or older.
- Must have knowledge of operations of the assigned departments.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be able to communicate in English. - IF APPLICABLE
- Able and willing to deliver friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service.
- Able and willing to work cooperatively with other team members.
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills
- Must be flexible with the ability to adapt to change when required
- Must possess a positive, enthusiastic attitude
- Ability to read, write and perform math skills
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., while performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for long periods of time; frequently walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear; occasionally sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Physical attendance at the primary work location is required.
