Regional Operations Manager – Bulk Fuel & Oil
The Regional Operations Manager is responsible for the performance and day-to-day operations of bulk fuel and oil facilities within an assigned region. This role leads Bulk Plant Managers to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable operations while supporting growth, customer satisfaction, and market expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee operations of bulk plant locations, ensuring safety, compliance, and performance standards are met.
- Lead, coach, and develop Bulk Plant Managers and site teams.
- Serve as a liaison between operations, sales, and support departments.
- Monitor price risk exposure and support contract and purchasing decisions.
- Implement and maintain operational policies, procedures, and improvement initiatives.
- Partner with sales and local teams to drive customer growth and strengthen relationships.
- Maintain a strong field presence to understand customer needs and identify opportunities.
- Promote a safety-first culture and lead safety and risk reduction initiatives.
- Partner with finance on budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance management.
- Analyze operational and sales results to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of experience managing operations and staff; industry experience preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Solid understanding of financial performance and operational metrics.
- Experience with fuel, propane, lubricants, or related products, CTEP certification and in-depth product knowledge.
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL with Hazmat endorsement preferred.
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong knowledge around equipment maintenance and preventive care knowledge for trucks, trailers, fuel storage, and fuel dispensers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- CDL (Class A or B) with Hazmat endorsement preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and operational systems.
- Commitment to safety, compliance, and customer service.
Work Environment
Office-based with frequent travel to field locations, including bulk plants and terminals. Flexibility to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
