Bosch - Chassis Controls - Passive Safety (CC-PS) is a leading developer for Airbag sensing and control units in North America.
In our offices are in Plymouth, MI and Palo Alto, CA. We develop state of the art systems as well as advanced features leading to partly/highly automated driving.
The Global Technical Manager (GTM) is acting as the single point of entry for the OEM for technical topics and technical escalation beyond projects and defines the account specific strategy from an Engineering and Project Management standpoint.

Job Description

The Global Technical Manager (GTM) is acting as the single point of entry for the OEM for technical topics and technical escalation beyond projects and defines the account specific strategy from an Engineering and Project Management standpoint.
Responsibilities
- Act as interface of OSS(Occupant Safety Systems) to customer and Bosch on engineering level on complete lifecycle.
- Organize regular alignment meetings with stakeholders from customer engineering departments.
- Present status in Account Review Meetings.
- Represent Bosch at the customer for all airbag engineering topics.
- Ensure traceable documentation of customer engineering requests, incl. alignment with running projects for implementation strategy and planning.
- Plan, monitor and steer the engineering budget for the account globally.
- Trigger commercial data (Revenue, Profit) for the account.
- Run book shelving (early investments into assets).
- Define technology roadmap (incl. development and production, technical feature introduction).
- Define account milestone plan and review of project plans/timing within the account periodically.
- Organize innovation workshops with Product Manager& Customer.
- Ensure dependable and optimized technical offers.
- Define technical strategy for upcoming acquisitions.
- Track customer invoices in regular discussion with lead PjM.
- Develop own and adopt provided improvement measures along the engineering reference model, incl. process roadmap implementation.
- Define, align and implement the technical solution for the account w.r.t product generation.
- Run RPP(Plant cost reduction) measures in the account and overall tracking of RPP implementation.
- Maintain and develop customer specific competence in the engineering.
- Derive needed account competencies based on Roadmaps (Technology, Product, Improvement, Acquisition).
- Request and accomplish competence build-up to resource owners
- Request risk starts for strategically important projects and development activities
- Manage mainstream high level Technical Requirement from analysis to acceptance
- Travel up to 5-10%. This will include 2-3 trips to California and one international trip within a year.
- Bachelor degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in Automotive Embedded systems development (And development models like Aspice).
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in SW/System project management. PMP certification strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of Airbag technology/ sensors highly preferred.
- Experience working within global teams.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Skilled with MS Office suite applications.
