General Description:
In direct contact with the customer, the FSE is the connection between customer and after sales service.
We are seeking people whom we can train to perform field service on our equipment. If you understand the basics of electricity and power conversion equipment, we can teach you how to start-up, repair, and maintenance our products.
Service Trips are typically one to five days in duration, mostly weekdays.
If hired, must be able to travel to our HQ in Italy for mandatory product training.
Responsibilities:
· Travel to customer sites (approximately two weeks per month) throughout the US, Mexico, and Canada to perform commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, customer training and Battery capacity tests.
· Site activities include verifying the correct installation of the equipment, performing functional tests, troubleshooting and system repair or upgrades.
· Write detailed reports describing the work performed for every trip including timesheets.
· Perform customer training and create training material.
· Customer support and troubleshooting on customer site or via phone or email.
· Coordinate service trips with our customers. Book flights, hotels and rental cars and report expenses according to our company policies.
· Continuously increase knowledge and skills for existing and new products.
· Complete work in a safe manner.
Qualifications:
· Willingness to travel approximately two weeks per month, work flexible shifts, and adapt to changing schedules.
· Electrical technician with min. 2 years’ experience in field service/ BS degree of Electrical Engineering or equivalent
· Min. 2 years of Troubleshooting, Level 1 Support (ideal: level 2 Support) Remote support for troubleshooting experience in handling international customers with high expectations
· Experience performing field service work for UPS’, rectifiers, inverters, DC-DC converters, or other power conversion equipment is highly desired.
· Proficient in the use of test tools such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, load banks, etc.
· Ability to methodically and efficiently troubleshoot and fix problems due to electrical hardware, parameter settings while working in the high-pressure environment. of a customer site
· Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, one-line diagrams, etc.
· Strong interpersonal skills and “can-do” attitude.
· Must be a self-starter and able to work with minimal direction, team-oriented and able to work with different personalities and professional styles. Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
· Good self-expression, negotiation skills and ability to explain things in a comprehensive and intelligible way.
· Strong English speaking and writing skills to avoid misunderstandings or legal liabilities with
Customers.
· Fluency in Spanish and/or Italian is a big plus but not required.
Physical Requirements:
· Physical ability to perform repairs on equipment that involves lifting, bending over, working on small enclosures, crimping wires, adjusting lugs, etc.
