Job Description
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Transport the Deputy Borough President to and from various meetings and events throughout New York City.
- Transport materials to and from the office and various locations for special events.
- Occasionally lift and move boxes to and from the vehicle.
- Maintain the daily care of the Deputy Borough President’s vehicles including scheduled service, cleanliness, fuel, oil change, etc.
- Coordinate with the Scheduling Unit to assure successful completion of scheduled events and meetings.
- Always demonstrate safe driving skills in compliance with New York State and New York City driving laws.
- Report all mechanical issues, accidents to the Operations and Fleet Coordinator.
- Assist with special projects and administrative tasks as needed.
CHAUFFEUR-ATTENDANT - 91217
Minimum Qualifications
1. Valid New York State Driver’s License with a clean driving record for the past five (5) years.
2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community-centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
3. High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
4. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to “2” or “3” above. However, all candidates must have at least two years of experience as described in “2” above.
Preferred Skills
- At least 3 years of experience transporting an executive and/or elected official. - Able to work weekends and holidays, when necessary. - Superior knowledge of the City’s and particularly Brooklyn’s roads and highways. - Excellent customer service skills with ability to problem-solve.

Residency Requirement
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
