Job Summary
Borough of Stockertown (Northampton County) Pennsylvania
The Borough of Stockertown is seeking a qualified, experienced, and community-focused leader to serve as Borough Manager. This full-time/part-time position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our small but vibrant municipality. As Borough Manager, you will act as the chief administrative officer, responsible for implementing Borough Council decisions, managing municipal services, and guiding long-term planning and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day Borough operations across all departments
- Serve as the primary liaison between Borough Council, residents, and other stakeholders
- Prepare and administer annual budgets and financial reports
- Oversee public works, code enforcement, and municipal contracts
- Coordinate and attend monthly Council meetings, preparing agendas and minutes
- Ensure compliance with the Pennsylvania Borough Code and applicable state and federal laws
- Assist with grant applications and capital improvement planning
- Provide support and guidance to various Borough boards, agencies, and commissions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, City & Regional Planning, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in municipal management, government administration, or public-sector leadership
- Comprehensive knowledge of municipal planning, budgeting, and public administration
- Strong understanding of the Pennsylvania Borough Code and local governance practices
- Understanding and experience with PennDOT, DEP, and other relevant regulatory agencies
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, and related administrative software
