Position Overview: This position requires on location time across two separate locations. Serving a single location may be considered and compensation/benefits will be based on that. The Clinical Supervisor will serve as the supervisor in all clinical aspects of our substance abuse treatment program. This includes implementation and compliance of all staff regarding program policies and procedures, directing, supervising, and monitoring the work of clinical staff, coordination of care between clinical and medical services providers, providing individual therapy, treatment planning, case management, client advocacy, counseling, and crisis intervention.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understanding of Federal and Maryland Regulations for Community Based Behavioral Health including but not limited to; MD COMAR, SAMSHA, DEA, as well as Accreditation requirements required in the Joint Commission (JACO).
  • Ensuring the implementation, monitoring, and compliance of program policies and procedures are adhered to by staff.
  • Work closely with a team of clinicians, medical personnel, and office personnel to provide care for patients.
  • Ensure an outpatient environment conducive to recovery from addiction, specifically to the opioid class of drugs.
  • Direct and supervise clinical staff in providing high-quality substance abuse counseling services ensuring they are properly licensed or credentialed and trained in providing high standards of care and services.
  • Ensure clinical and administrative services are provided for patients and their families.
  • Develop and maintain written objectives, policies, procedures, and a quality assurance program.
  • Participates in quality assurance, quality improvement, and utilization of review activities.
  • Collaborate with the program’s sponsor and administrator to determine the continuum of care for program participants.
  • Reviews and approves clinical documentation and conduct regular quality assurance and quality improvement reviews.
  • Provide individual therapy, treatment planning, case management, client advocacy, counseling, and crisis intervention as wee as coordinate and arrange family therapy services for program participants.
  • Maintain a small caseload and provide group and individual addiction counseling according to the Comprehensive Treatment Plan.

Qualifications:

Have at a minimum:

  • A master's degree in counseling or a related discipline regulated under the Health Occupations Article, Annotated Code of Maryland, and certification or licensure as an alcohol and drug counselor by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists; or
  • Approval to supervise by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists.

Additional:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisory/management role preferred.
  • Two (2) years of experience in Behavioral Health and substance use disorders field. MOUD MAT treatment a plus.
  • Previous experience with human resource management and budgets.
  • Experience working with the substance abuse population.
  • Current certification in CPR and First Aid.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Skilled in conducting assessments, treatment plan development and implementation, service coordination, and crisis intervention.

Reporting Structure: The Clinical Supervisor will report directly to the Program Sponsor and Medical Director. The Clinical Supervisor works collaboratively with a Program Administrator. The Clinical Supervisor works in a team environment with clinicians, medical personnel, and office personnel.
