Front of House Staff

Our front of house team members are in one of our most customer-facing (and pup-facing!) and versatile roles! Responsible for every aspect of the guest experience from check-in and ordering to general safety, and table management, you will know our regular pups by name, their favorite flavor of treats, and their owners' favorite orders. You're responsible for facilitating community engagement and promoting the goings-on at the cafe as well as maintaining a joyful and safe dining and play space!  

Responsibilities
Welcoming & Member Engagement:

• Be the face of Boris and Horton by warmly greeting members and guests, ensuring a memorable first impression.
• Assist with check-ins, verifying membership status, and loyalty.
• Serve as a trusted resource for questions in person and over the phone, guiding members and non-members with ease.
• Advocate for the Boris and Horton community, sharing its unique benefits without being overly sales-focused.
• Facilitate events by welcoming guests, managing attendee flow, and promoting upcoming experiences.

Guest & Food Service:

• Provide a high level of hospitality and service, ensuring guests have a positive dining experience.
• Take and process food and beverage orders efficiently, maintaining expertise in menu offerings, ingredients, specials, and allergy considerations.
• Oversee retail checkout, offering personalized recommendations while keeping merchandise well-stocked.
• Maintain impeccable cleanliness, ensuring the space is always inviting and well-presented.
• Learn and make coffee and assorted beverages, a passion for great tasting drinks preferred.

Dog Supervision & Safety:

• Oversee safe and appropriate play between dogs, advocating for their best social experiences.
• Proactively address behavioral concerns with guests, using informed redirection and communication based on canine behavior knowledge.
• Track behavioral incidents and ensure corrective action is taken to maintain a safe and happy environment.
• Regularly refill and sanitize canine water sources and play areas to uphold health and safety standards.

Operations & Maintenance:

• Complete opening and closing duties, ensuring the café is properly set up and secured.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the cafe.
• Work closely with teammates to oversee cafe capacity, manage patron flow, and provide ongoing support.
• Execute station setup and breakdown efficiently.
• Perform other duties as assigned to contribute to the smooth operation of the dog café.
