We are seeking a motivated and dependable Dump Truck Driver to join our dynamic team. Duties
- Safely operate dump trucks, including tractor-trailers, roll-off trucks, and other heavy-duty vehicles, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload materials such as gravel, dirt, debris, or other freight using appropriate equipment like forklifts or hydraulic systems when necessary.
- Drive route-specific deliveries, ensuring timely arrival at designated sites while managing multiple stops efficiently.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks to identify mechanical issues or safety concerns before and after each shift.
- Maintain accurate logs of mileage, fuel consumption, cargo details, and delivery documentation for compliance purposes.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and site managers regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues encountered during routes.
- Assist with the maintenance of trucks by reporting repairs needed or performing basic upkeep tasks as trained.
- Follow all safety protocols related to operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or other specialized equipment as required for specific loads.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience operating dump trucks or similar heavy-duty vehicles in a commercial setting.
- Strong knowledge of manual transmission operation and vehicle handling techniques.
- Familiarity with different types of freight loads including flatbeds, tankers, and roll-off containers.
- Experience in route driving with the ability to plan efficient delivery schedules.
- Ability to load & unload freight safely using forklifts or other equipment when necessary.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients on-site.
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to trucking operations and cargo securement standards. Nice-to-have skills include experience with tractor-trailers, delivery driver experience across various industries, familiarity with freight handling procedures, and certifications related to forklift operation or specialized vehicle handling.
